An Inuit man with little experience of white society travels to a trading post, where an encounter with a missionary ends in an accidental killing. Suddenly caught in a world whose rules he barely knows, he becomes the target of a police pursuit. As the authorities close in, his unfamiliarity with their laws and customs turns a tragic mistake into a dangerous flight.
