At 16, Mary Wollstonecraft Godwin meets 21-year-old poet Percy Shelley, beginning a love affair that shapes the course of her young life. The film follows their relationship and the events that lead Mary toward writing Frankenstein; or, The Modern Prometheus, the immortal novel that would define her as Mary Shelley.
