On an Imperial planet under relentless attack from Drukhari raiders, the embattled Astra Militarum sends out a desperate plea for aid. Their call is answered by a force of Space Marines, bringing what appears to be long-awaited salvation. But as the fighting continues, the planet’s population begins to understand that rescue can come at a cost, and that they may need to be careful what they wish for.
