A bookshop clerk and aspiring actress becomes obsessed with her favorite 1950s pulp novels, only to see their disfigured killer step out of the pages and into her life. As people around her begin to die, she struggles to make sense of what is happening and turns to her cop boyfriend for help, but he does not believe her warnings.
