At the Virginia Military Institute, a group of teenage cadets has been kept at a distance from the war shaping the world beyond their school. That separation ends when they are called upon to help defend the Shenandoah Valley. Forced from the shelter of youth into an adult conflict, the cadets must face the fear, violence, and responsibility that come with war.
