In a small town in Western Australia, a teenage boy and his friend grow restless with the monotony of their everyday lives. Drawn to the ocean, they develop an interest in surfing and begin taking lessons from Sando, an older surfer whose experience and attitude set him apart. As the pair spend more time with him, an unlikely friendship starts to form.
