In June 2016, Josiah Wisper, a brash Harlem businessman with interests in bars, restaurants, and real estate, returns to his suburban Northern New Jersey home to a devastating discovery: his wife and children have been shot to death. As the only Black man in a white neighborhood, he quickly becomes a prime suspect, forcing him to confront police suspicion while trying to uncover who killed his family.
